Crowns and Bridges in Riverview

Proudly Offering Professional Crowns and Bridges Services Here In Riverview

Sometimes teeth are seriously worn, broken, or need to be extracted. It’s those times where custom crowns and bridges can help you regain your smile. Crowns are used to repair damaged teeth, while bridges are used to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are also used in conjunction with other dental services such as dental implants or root canals, to restore single or multiple teeth.

Dental Crowns ("Caps")

Crowns help to protect damaged teeth and prevent future deterioration. We recommend crowns when a tooth has a large cavity, is fractured, or has recently been treated with a root canal. The restoration is handcrafted in a lab, ensuring optimal aesthetics and durability.

Dental Bridges

Traditional dental bridges are a simple solution for replacing missing teeth. The bridge, like crowns, rests on top of a slightly reshaped tooth, allowing it to be permanently anchored in a specific area of your mouth. A suspended pontic (artificial) crown fills the space between the supporting crowns on either end of the bridge.

Bridges are typically used in situations where there are only 1-2 missing teeth and the adjacent teeth show signs of previous dental work or wear. But we can create bridges for 3-4 missing teeth if they’re set on top of dental implants.

Care for Bridges and Crowns

Although crowns and bridges do not decay, they are subject to normal wear and tear. If you have a habit of clenching and grinding your teeth, we recommend sleeping in a mouthguard to protect your restorations. Additionally, it’s important to brush and floss around each restoration on a daily basis, as plaque buildup can still weaken the supporting teeth.

What to Expect

A crown or bridge usually requires two separate appointments spaced about two weeks apart. We'll numb and prep your tooth during your first visit, then take an impression to create a custom restoration in that space. We will fit you with a temporary restoration to wear while the permanent restoration is being designed. Then you'll return a few weeks later to have your permanent crown or bridge bonded into place.
